The Anaheim Ducks and 19-year old defenseman Matt Clark has agreed on a three year, entry level, contract. It's a two way deal and he will have a cap hit of $750,000 if he plays in the NHL.
Matt Clark was a 2nd round pick (#37 overall) by the Ducks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In 66 games with Brampton Battalion of the OHL this season, Clark has collected 23 points (7+16) along with 88 penalty minutes. He has developed into a primary shut down defensemen in the league this season and has 6 points (2+4) in 6 games during the playoffs.
Matt Clark also appeared in a preseason game with the Ducks back in September, without getting a point. He's set to become a restricted free agent in 2013.

Basically, the Ducks got three first rounders in 2009. Clark could easily have been a 1st round selection imo. He's gonna be great.
