Modig hasn't heard from Anaheim yet

The Ducks goaltender prospect Mattias Modig is going to Brynas in the SEL according to Newspaper Norrbottens-Kuriren. As I'm from northern Sweden, I know this paper very well and I assure you it's legit.

However, I found the story from Expressen, here it is:

Translation:
Jacob Markstrom leaves for the NHL. But Brynas is getting Mattias Modig from Lulea, according to Norrbottens-Kuriren. In addition, Modig will be replaced by David Rautio from Oskarshamn.
While the SEL-playoffs are up and running, the silly season is heating up. Lulea - who missed the playoffs - won't be able to keep goaltender Mattias Modig next season.

According to Norrbottens-Kuriren, the 22-year old is heading to Brynas, where he will replace the super talented Jacob Markstrom, who is moving to the NHL. The reason for Modig's team change, is according to the newspaper, that Modig wants to develop under Brynas goalie coach Per-Erik Alcen.

"Modig has decided to take a pay cut to go to Brynas so he can have "Pekka" as his goalie coach", a source is telling Norbottens-Kuriren.

However, Brynas could still lose Modig if Anaheim of the NHL decides to bring him over to their organisation. Although Modig hasn't heard anything from Anaheim.

"Several SEL-teams are interested, but I can't say who. I'm also going to listen to what Lulea has to say.", Modig told Norrbottens-Kuriren.

According to Norrbottens-Kuriren, Lulea will replace Modig with David Rautio. Rautio was backup in Lulea in 2005/2006, but is currently playing in Oskarshamn.

I'm pretty sure Modig will hear from the Ducks during next month or the month after. With Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Justin Pogge now gone, and with Jean-Philippe Levasseur possibly not getting a new contract, I'm confident the Ducks and Modig will work something out this summer. But it remains to be seen if he will be loaned to the SEL or if he'll be brought over.
