Trade deadline coming up

A long break here. The plan was to give reports on our Ducks Olympians during the break but I felt I had to take some time off. Anyways, the Ducks came home with as many as seven medals from the tournament. The only two who didn't get a medal was Luca Sbisa and Jonas Hiller on the Swiss team. Sbisa looked really impressive throughout the whole tournament and I don't see how he wouldn't be ready for the NHL next season.

I wasn't gonna write much more right now. But as you know, the trade deadline is coming up in a couple of days so it's gonna be an interesting time to follow. Jordan Leopold was already traded to Pittsburgh today, a defenseman I'm a big fan of. He would would have been a nice addition to a questionable defense for sure.

At first I was like: "The Pens only had to give up a 2nd round pick, why didn't we match that?" But apparently, Leopold had a no trade clause in his contract. When Pittsburgh came with an offer, Leopold agreed on getting traded.

The latest rumours involving Anaheim seems to be Joffrey Lupul going to either Pittsburgh or Buffalo. But that's a rumour taken from Eklund. Also, if there's any interest in Lupul from other teams, it should be from teams looking to rebuild. Pittsburgh and Buffalo are both teams that should be looking to make their teams stronger going in to the playoffs. Therefore, adding Lupul probably isn't the best idea as it's uncertain he will be able to play more this season.
