More Ducks are suffering injuries

Ducks veteran center and assistant captain, Saku Koivu, might play tomorrow night against the San Jose Sharks at home in Honda Center. According to the OC Register, Koivu made his most serious training today since suffering a strained groin November 7 against Phoenix.

Just like Koivu, Joffrey Lupul, James Wisniewski, Steve Eminger and Ryan Carter are all questionable for Saturdays game. Carter has been out with a bruised foot since November 11 against New Jersey, and didn’t participate in today’s practice. James Wisniewski also suffered a bruised foot Thursday in the first period against Tampa Bay, and didn’t return to the ice.
Steve Eminger didn’t play against the Lightning and didn’t participate in today’s drills due to back spasms. Apparently, Joffrey Lupul also got hurt Thursday as he sat out from today’s practice with a tightness in his lower body.

One can only wonder what the Ducks line up will end up look like Saturday if more people doesn’t get involved in practice.

Ryan - Getzlaf - Perry
Artyukhin - Nokelainen - Selanne
Calder - Marchant - Brown
Bodie(?) - Sharp - Parros

I think the team expects one of Lupul or Koivu to be ready come Saturday as the team has yet to call someone up from the AHL or ECHL. Defenseman Sheldon Brookbank could have a place on the 4th line, but only if Eminger gets healthy.

The Sharks currently has reported four injuries among their players. Devin Setoguchi, Jody Shelley and Brad Staubitz are listed as “day to day” for different reasons. The Sharks also has veteran defenseman Rob Blake on injury reserve with a left arm injury.

The OC Register also reports that pro skateboarder Mike Vallely, was arrested and later released for being involved fighting in the stands on Thursday (video in post below). Mike Vallely, or “Mike V” to be short, had a link to his blog on the Ducks official website. That link was removed after the incident.
