- Center Ryan Carter is out with a broken foot until late December.

- Left winger Kyle Calder will likely miss 2-3 more weeks with an eye injury.

- Defenseman Brett Festerling is ready to make his first NHL game of the season as he was recalled from the Toronto Marlies yesterday. In addition, defenseman Brendan Mikkelson was assigned to the Marlies.

- Yesterday's acquisition, center Kyle Chipchura, will have some busy days ahead working out papers such as visa etc, regarding his move from Canada.
